In the final part of our short blog series on the hidden meanings behind the colours of flowers, we take a look at purple, lavender and white flowers!

Purple Flowers:

The Symbolic meaning of purple flowers are associated with power, wealth, dignity and life’s luxuries.

Purple has such a strong meaning or power that it was first known as the colour of royalty. Purple fabric used to be so outrageously expensive that only rulers could afford it. The dye came from the Phoenician trading city of Tyre (now modern-day Lebanon) where the fabric traders obtained it from a small mollusk that was only found in the Tyre region of the Mediterranean Sea. More than 9,000 mollusks were needed to create just one gram of Tyrian purple.

Purple flowers are also known to bring energizing and stimulating vibrant colour to any bouquet and are viewed with admiration.
