Google has marked the first day of autumn in style with a brand new Doodle! To celebrate the end of the summer, Google’s animated Doodle features a squirrel popping up amongst colourful autumnal vegetables.

The equinox (Latin for equal night) happens when the plane of the Earth’s equator passes the centre of the sun (exactly overhead). The north and south poles of the Earth align, theoretically giving both hemispheres the same amount of daylight. As leaves stop producing chlorophyll – which gives them their green colour – they will slowly turn beautiful shades ranging from yellows to reds.

There are a number of breath-taking spots across the world that experience autumn in a spectacular way, including Japan, New Zealand, Germany and Chile. But if you’re looking for views closer to home, there’s no shortage of local destinations, with the Lake District, Wales, Sussex and Hampshire being just some of the UK’s beauty top spots for the change in the weather.

The equinox is a special day for Green Team Interiors, not only does it set the cooler days and longer nights, but it also marks the lead up to one of our favourite times of year – Christmas!

Our preparations are well underway for the festive season, even if it is three months early! So, if you haven’t already started planning your corporate festivities, download our 2015 Christmas brochure to browse our collections.
