The Green Team Interiors Experience


OUR STORY

Founded in June 2000 by Ruth Neal and Chris Davis, Green Team Interiors Ltd was launched to create an interior landscaping business based on the concept of a “better way”.

A “better way”

The concept of a “better way” evolved for Ruth and Chris during their careers in commerce and industry, but it was not until travelling across South India in 1999 that the concept was crystallised.  Suspended 30m above the jungle floor, in a tree house that would serve as their dwelling for the next few days, Ruth and Chris experienced first-hand the clean pure oxygen produced by the rainforests of Kerala. The experience provided the inspiration and critical impetus to realising a passion for using living plants to enhance man-made environments.

Today, the “better way” concept manifests itself in a strongly held belief that there is a better way to conduct business, which delivers a great experience for everybody.  A better way to deliver great customer service; a better way to interact with our employees; and a better way to build rewarding relationships with our suppliers and the local community.

In January 2015 Mark Berriman joined Green Team Interiors to continue to champion the “better way” and to help guide the business through its next phase.

Mark has extensive experience in the Interior Landscaping Industry and a lifelong passion for plants.

His love of horticulture was fostered from an early age during visits to his grandparents.  They were keen gardeners and Mark loved sowing seeds in the greenhouse, planting out or weeding borders. He spent many a happy hour pottering about in his own small patch of garden at his home in Sussex.

There was only one career choice – fast forward to 1983 where Mark achieved his City & Guilds Certificate in Amenity & Commercial Horticulture at Brinsbury – now part of Chichester College.

In 1984 Mark joined a family business in Sussex as an Interior Landscaper.  In those days plants were propagated from cuttings or grown on from small plug plants.  His strong belief in excellent customer care was fostered in this very first job.

Mark’s career developed with other interior landscaping companies gaining broader experience in horticulture, design and management.

Sharing Ruth and Chris’s high quality standards and being totally committed to Green Team Interiors customer and team focused culture, Mark continues to champion these values following his appointment to Managing Director in September 2015.
